Here is a list of some of our favorite things to do on Maui. There are many exciting things happening on this island. That being said, sometimes just sunbathing on the lanai (deck) or relaxing at the beach is all you need to do to enjoy your day, so don't feel pressured to do everything (or anything) while you are here.

*We recommend booking ahead of time for actives marked with an asterix.

*Day Trip off Island / Snorkeling Adventure

Maui Ocean Riders
This is an amazing adventure company that offers small and nearly private boat rides off Maui to different islands, including Lana’i and Moloka’i. You can become part of a small number of people who are able to circumnavigate the island of Lana’i and stop off at 4 different stops to swim and snorkel.

*Snorkeling

Maui Snorkel Charters
There are many good snorkeling spots on the island, our favorite being Ahihi when the conditions are favorable. For the best snorkeling experience, however, we cannot recommend going out with Maui Snorkel Charters enough. Their boat travels to the island of Molokini and other amazing spots off the beaten path. They are a family run company and live just down the street from us! You will get your fill of snorkeling for the year, and the skilled crew keeps snorkelers safe and laughing the whole time. Boat leaves just 5 mins from the house!

*Guided Adventures

No Ka Oi Adventures
Our friend Wade Holmes runs No Ka Oi Adventures. He is a fantastic and very smart guy, and going on an adventure with him is an excellent way to learn about the cultural history and stunning nature of Maui.

*Helicopter Tours

Blue Hawaiian Helicopters
This is a great way to see other parts of the island in an incredible way! They have a variety of options for different tours. All are spectacular.

Haleakalā for *Sunrise or Sunset

Haleakala National Park
Haleakala is the crater on Maui, located 10,000ft above sea level. On a clear day, you can see the most magnificent sunrises and sunsets. This is also the third best location in the world for stargazing. For self-guided tours at sunrise, a pass is required, but anyone is free to drive up for sunset. Be sure to dress warm, as temperatures get down below freezing.

Hikes

Pride of Maui
There are some incredible hikes on Maui, all offering different experiences and chances to see the vast and varied levels of beauty on this small island. Please do take advantage! And don’t forget your camera!

Horseback Riding

Ironwood Ranch
Ironwood Ranch is a great spot located on the west side for different types of rides. Roni and Kimo are the owners and are fantastic! This would be a day trip from our location, but a fun day, as the West Side offers other amazing beaches and places to eat!

Lavender Farm

Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm
This is a wonderful place to go if you head upcountry. There is a small fee to enter, but the views from the farm are incredible. It does get cooler up there, so bring a sweater! They have lavender everything – scones, creams, salts, sprays, even coffee. It’s an incredibly relaxing place to be.

Farmers Market

Upcountry Farmers Market
This is THE place to be on Saturday mornings! A huge array of delicious prepared foods, pastries, handmade goods, and organic produce. A great way to experience some local flare and grab a delicious breakfast. 7am-11am on Saturdays in Pukalani.

*Luau

Old Lahaina Luau
The Old Lahaina Luau is known on the island for being the best of the best. It’s a great way to learn about the culture of Hawaii and how the islands came together while enjoying the unique flavors of Hawaii and the neighboring islands.

*Massages

Paul Parsons
Orthopedic Massage. His office is 5 minutes from Sky Point.  Highly recommended by my physical therapist.  He’s an orthopedic body worker, and I think he is excellent at deep tissue work. Cell: 808-280-6898

*Maui Arts & Cultural Center (MACC)

www.mauiarts.org
Maui has some amazing productions and shows. Be sure to take a look at their website for further details on what will be playing while you’re here. We’re lucky to have such a wonderful resource.

*Outdoor Water Activities

Maui Stand-up Paddle Boarding
Cruising along the glassy water in the crisp early morning is one of the great experiences to have on the south side of Maui. If you have never tried stand-up paddle boarding before, we recommend going out with a guide for the first time to get your sea legs.

Hawaiian Paddle Sports
Kayaking – stand up paddle boarding – surfing lessons. They offer it all and are a fantastic company to go out with. Highly recommended.

Road to Hana

Driving on the Road to Hana is a solid day trip and an adventurous ride with twists and turns and over 100 one-way bridges. This is the greenest part of the island, and there is so much to do on the way to Hana. Download the GyPSy Driving Tour App - you won't be disappointed! You have the option to go all the way around (if you are okay with the insurance on your rental car not covering about 10 miles of the drive on the south side) or you can drive to Hana and turn back. Getting an early start is a must, as is wearing a bathing suit, bringing a beach towel, and being prepared to be in and out of water and waterfalls all day. You’ll want your camera too, as this is definitely worth documenting! Check out Pranee’s Thai Food in Hana if it’s open (you will see a sign as you are coming in to town). Red Sand beach is fantastic as well.

*Sunrise Bike Tour down Haleakala

Maui Sun Riders
This is a great way to see the crater at a magnificent time of day. You’ll wake up in the middle of the night and drive to Paia where a van will drive you and the small group to the top of Haleakala. From here they’ll tell you where to stand to get ready for the golden light of sunrise. Maui Sun Riders gives you the freedom to make your way down the crater at your own speed – setting you off on your own ahead of the guided groups that go down together with a leader. You’ll want to pack warmer gear for this, as it’s quite cold up there at 10,000ft!

*Whale Watching

Pacific Whale Foundation
Pacific Whale Foundation offers a variety of tours, which are all fantastic and support a great cause. Whale Watching from December through February is amazing, and the snorkeling trip out to Molokini and Turtle Arches is also fantastic. They also offer dolphin watch tours in the Spring and Fall from May to November. Check out their website!

Yoga

Afterglow Yoga
The best yoga studio on Maui. Their Kihei studio is only 10 minutes away. They have a wide range of excellent classes taught by knowledgeable and fun teachers. The drop in rate is $20, and they offer a special 2-week pass for only $50 for visitors.

Dr. Amanda Eller
Amanda is one of the best yoga teachers on Maui, and she offers an amazing yoga experience just for our guests. She guides you through a therapeutic yoga routine to address the specific issues in your body right from your scenic deck here at SkyPoint. Her rates are very reasonable, and her enthusiasm infectious. A must do! She also offers her physical therapy services and therapuetic bodywork to our guests.

Ziplining around two different spots on Maui is another great way to try something adventurous on the island and see areas of the jungle you may not see otherwise.
